Your Apprenticeship Studies
These days, there are lots of options available to you when you come out of full-time education. So why choose an Apprenticeship with us? An accounting apprenticeship with Rayner Essex is an excellent alternative to going to University and will allow you to start earning straight away. Combining structured training, study support and on-the-job experience, our Apprenticeship Programme is designed to help develop your professional skills and knowledge, as well as your technical understanding. Our apprentices join a two to three-year training programme to study towards a work-based qualification from the Association of Accountancy Technicians (AAT). You will be provided with support from a dedicated supervisor and will receive regular reviews to ensure that you are progressing in your role and studies.
We work in partnership with our training provider and our ultimate aim is for our apprentices to successfully complete the technical requirements of their qualification whilst developing practical knowledge of accountancy practices and working on their own client portfolio. This will give you a great head start in the profession, giving you the opportunity to learn the business from the ground up while developing your professional skills.
We regularly recruit apprentices in our London and St Albans offices and if you are looking for the opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining work experience and an industry recognised qualification it’s a great place to start.
You do not need any previous accounting experience to join us as an apprentice, but you do need to have enthusiasm, determination and a commitment to learning. In addition, you will need a minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above (including at least a grade B in Maths and English) and for Higher Apprenticeships two A levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
When training towards a professional qualification, the firm provides study support, including covering tuition costs and paid study leave for first-time exam attempts.
Our vision is to be the ‘go to’ firm for small and medium sized enterprises in the UK by providing a truly excellent professional service that is tailored to meet every client’s needs and requirements. Whether working with clients or colleagues, we encourage our staff to exemplify the values of integrity, honesty, objectivity and impartiality and ensure that our activities are independent, responsive, fair and open.
We see our apprenticeship programme as central to the firm’s growth, with the aim that our apprentices will grow and develop with the firm, with the opportunity to move onto further professional qualifications where appropriate.
