Graduates and Part Qualified
Rayner Essex are always looking for talented graduates and part-qualified individuals to join our growing team. We can offer you a working environment that really values professional as well as personal development.
Training with Rayner Essex – Graduate Programme
As a graduate, you will join a three-year training programme to study towards the ICAEW Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification. This will give you a great head start in the profession, by making sure you’re not only fully qualified as a Chartered Accountant but have the mix of practical experience and theoretical training. We provide a structured programme to ensure that you will acquire the kind of knowledge you need in areas such as audit and assurance, accounting and financial reporting. We will also balance the theory with practical training, giving you plenty of hands on experience in the commercial world. Additional training to equip you for your work with us is provided by our training partner SWAT UK and more technical training focusing on the exams is provided by professional tutors from Kaplan. Both are leading training organisations in the profession, and this is supplemented by in-house workshops and training sessions. You will be given paid study leave, and we also cover the costs of all courses and examinations for first attempts.
You do not need any previous accounting experience, as full training is provided, but there are a few things we ask you to bring along as well as the drive and determination that will set you apart from the rest. You will need:
- A minimum of a 2:2 expected or obtained degree (in any discipline).
- A minimum of 300 UCAS points (old UCAS tariff) or 120 UCAS points (new UCAS tariff) or equivalents excluding General Studies;
- GCSE (or equivalent) English Language, grade C or above; and
- GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics, grade B or above.
Don’t forget that your academic qualifications are not enough on their own. We are looking for articulate and confident graduates with a range of transferable skills. Accountancy is a people-focused profession. Numeracy is expected, but you must also be able to communicate confidently with colleagues and clients, as well as being able to organise yourself and your workload; balance the competing demands on your time; and take personal responsibility for the development of your career.
When training towards a professional qualification, the firm provides study support, including covering tuition costs and paid study leave for first-time exam attempts.
Training with Rayner Essex – Part-qualified opportunities
If you are looking for the next step in your career on your journey to becoming a qualified accountant or tax practitioner, then we can offer you a varied and interesting opportunity. As well as being a regulated training firm by the ICAEW, Rayner Essex is also an ACCA approved employer, with Gold status for the ACCA Approved Trainee Development Stream. We also provide study support to students working towards tax qualifications including the ATT and CTA.
We regularly recruit individuals who are part-way through their studies, offering them the opportunity to complete their qualification with the firm. We believe in giving people responsibility from an early stage, with the opportunity to get hands on practical experience to support and enhance a student’s technical training.
